THE ANIMALS OF
WILD KIN
Learn their stories.
Join their future. Each Wild Kin pathway is represented by a threatened Australian animal, connecting our human journey with the living world around us. These animals are more than symbols. As Wild Kin grows, we will learn from and support the conservationists, researchers, wildlife carers and community groups already working to protect them.
Through education, storytelling, field experiences, citizen science, habitat restoration and practical fundraising, our community will have meaningful ways to contribute. We want every Wild Kin animal to lead us beyond awareness and into relationship, responsibility and action.
YOUNG PEOPLE
Orange-bellied ParrotThe Orange-bellied Parrot represents Young People and Learn: curiosity, discovery and the courage to begin. Its remarkable annual journey reminds us that every young person carries possibility worth nurturing, and a future worth protecting.
ADULTS
Greater GliderThe Greater Glider represents Adults and Become: courage, transition and trusting yourself to move beyond familiar ground. Its movement between trees reminds us that becoming often begins when we release what is known and reach towards what comes next.
ELDERS
Southern Right WhaleThe Southern Right Whale represents Elders and Pass it on: memory, ancestry and wisdom carried across long journeys. Its return through familiar waters reminds us that knowledge becomes legacy when it is shared with the generations who will carry it forward.
COMMUNITY
Western Spiny-tailed SkinksThe Western Spiny-tailed Skink represents Community and Belong. Unlike most reptiles, these endangered skinks live in close, multigenerational family groups, sharing the safety of the same hollow log. They remind us that belonging is something we build, protect and return to together.
WELCOME
Growling Grass FrogThe Growling Grass Frog welcomes you to Wild Kin with a call that carries across the water. Bold, joyful and full of character, it invites us to stop, listen and discover the living world gathering all around us.
